We have a brilliantly funny book to share with you today.

$50 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway (or PayPal cash) – Michelle Manning

Siding With Plato is a romantic laugh-out-loud chick lit novel about being young, beautiful, and a seriously hot mess!

Brooke Aarons can’t get to college fast enough. Leaving behind her small town life, she intends to transform herself into a brilliant psychologist at the University of Texas, with no distractions to slow her down. But when she finds herself on a double date with the school’s star football player – and worse, enjoying it – Brooke has to wonder if she’s the one who needs her head examined. James Cartwright’s easy life, endless bucks, and long line of willing girls should make him a non-starter for Brooke, but as she learns, the psychology behind a bad crush is a whole lot messier of a subject. Maybe Plato was right. Maybe love is a serious mental disease . . . If so there better be a cure before Brooke gets herself in too deep.

Look at what other readers have had to say

Siding with Plato is witty and exciting, you won’t be able to put it down!

It took me right back to my Freshmen year of college and all the fun I had! I loved when Brooke and her friends would wake up and immediately try to locate each other to grab some breakfast and gossip/piece together the night before. It reminded me of my group of girlfriends, Those morning were my favorite part of college.

Siding With Plato is a fun, easy read for the summer! The characters are entertaining and witty – and I could easily relate to all of their hilarious interactions. I highly recommend grabbing your towel and heading out to the beach with Siding With Plato!

I prefer e-book over the regular paperback. It’s easier for me to read it because I can change the brightness, font size and font design to suit my preference. It’s also less clutter and I can have over 20 books in my gadget without having to carry all of 20 paperbacks. Imagine how inconvenient it is otherwise.

I actually prefer hard back to paperback, and I prefer both to the eBook. There is something you get from reading a book and turning the pages that you just don’t get when you’re reading an eBook and you have to click/swipe/tap to change pages…I’m old school I guess lol.

    Reply Reply August 24, 2013

I guess I’m just old-fashioned, because I’ll always pick a “real” book over an ebook, given the choice. I have a 1st-gen Kindle, but I’ve only read one full novel on it (I received the ebook as a gift and couldn’t afford the hardcover of that book at that time). I keep a bunch of books loaded to the Kindle app on my phone, but they’re mostly short story collections – that way I always have something to read with me, but I can go back to my paper book once I get home.

I love all books pretty much equally–hardcover books, paperbacks, and e-books. Yes, I am one of those who likes the smell of a physical book and to actually turn the pages. At this time, however, I have to pick e-books because I am an avid reader and have a small library of books as it is. E-books satisfy my need to read, read, read but don’t take up any additional space :)

  • Lisa

    Reply Reply August 23, 2013

I prefer not to read on the computer (it gets me tired real fast) so I like a hard copy of the book.

  • Ginger

    Reply Reply August 23, 2013

I prefer ebooks, because I can’t keep track of so many books. I have too many readers in my house and not enough space for the books. The clutter gives me anxiety and I can’t relax enough to read. Plus I can never keep track of the bookmarks.

I like paperbacks because I like the feel of them in my hands and the physical act of turning the pages, BUT lately I’m loving my Kindle Fire. I live on a sailboat and while I’d love to carry all of my books around, space is limited so the Kindle could not be more perfect!!

  • Amy C

    Reply Reply August 22, 2013

I love both but am mostly getting ebooks right now since I don’t want to add items in the house. Though if I love an author I will grab their new book in paperback and then donate it to the public library so that I can go read it when I want.

  • Kamla L.

    Reply Reply August 22, 2013

I prefer paperbacks mainly because I don’t have an ereader. I have the kindle app on my desktop but being confined to my desk to read books takes some of the enjoyment out of the reading experience. I also prefer having physical copies my favorite books.

  • Jennifer P

    Reply Reply August 21, 2013

For novels I prefer an ebook, especially if it’s just light summer reading. It takes up less space and since I’m mostly reading it when I’m going somewhere it’s easier to carry. For the most part, however, I read classics or non-fiction, and for those I prefer hard-cover because well, I’m going to save them. Thanks for the giveaway. Also diagrams are just easier to view and manipulate in a book rather than e-reader.

I prefer paperbacks. I don’t read much but when I do I love the smell of a new book. It is just something that I have always loved. Plus with technology you are always needing to update to keep up with times and you may lose a great book in the process. With paperback you know you will always have your book handy as long as you take care of it.

Our house is full of books. We also got each of the kids a kindle eReader last year and they love them. We have noticed that the kids are more likely to read a book if it is on a device so we keep their kindles stuffed full of interesting books for them.
